Victorias man shot dead by unidentified gunmen

BACOLOD City – A resident of Victorias City, Negros Occidental was shot dead by an unidentified suspect around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday at Purok 4, Barangay 9, Victorias City.

Chief Inspector Eduardo Corpuz, Victorias City police head, identified the victim as Freddie De La Torre Molase, 45, resident.

Sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to his body, Molase was rushed to Ikaayong Lawas Medical Foundation, Inc. for medical attention before being transferred to Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City where he was declared “dead on arrival” by the attending physician.

The police’s initial investigation reveals that the victim had went outside their house to fetch water from the nearby water pump when his wife Jocelyn Molase heard a burst of gunshots. She rushed outside their home to see the victim on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.

Recovered from the crime scene were three fired empty shells of .45 caliber pistol.

The Victorias City Police Station is still conducting an investigation to determine the identity of the suspect and to establish a motive for the crime./PN
