JINS from the Mark V. Pinggol Taekwondo Gym in Iloilo City took home medals in the kyorugi and poomsae events of the 2018 Regional Age Group Taekwondo Championships on Sunday at Gaisano City Bacolod.
Handled by head coach Diego Garcia and assistant coaches Kyna Zurielle Gemarini and Scarlett Valencia, the athletes finished the tournament as first runner-up overall.
Jannah Velez bannered the Ilonggo delegation with a gold medal in each of individual poomsae and kyorugi, while Andria Margaret Palabrica had a gold in individual poomsae and a silver in kyorugi.
Others who took home a gold medal in kyorugi were Neljane Belgira, Timothy West, Mark Mongao, Karl Mongao, Red Lusaya, Louwee Sualog, Christian Pudadera, Elysa Magno, and Akimeh Demavivas.
Settling for silver medals in kyorugi were Titus West, Reese Alfaro, Jose Lubis III, Anica Feranco, and Sheine De Asis.
Khyla Sernal, Giovanni Sualog, Crisgel Castro, Glaiza Cordero, Trisha Cayanan, Myles Ita-as, and Dariel Talamor bagged bronze in kyorugi, while Aiko Añasco got the same medal in poomsae./PN
