ILOILO City – A resident of Maasin, Iloilo accused of snatching a woman’s bag was detained at the Jaro police station.
The 30-year-old Rongie Ybañez of Barangay Magsaysay, Maasin was arrested at around 1:08 p.m. Wednesday.
The victim was an 83-year-old woman the police identified only as “Lores.”
The woman was walking in front of the Iloilo Mission Hospital in Jaro when Ybañez grabbed her bag, which contained P1,400 cash, a police report stated.
Ybañez ran away but police officers detailed in the area chased and eventually caught him./PN
