ILOILO – The Provincial Treasurer’s Office was hailed as the best in Western Visayas for 2017 by the Department of Finance’s Bureau of Local Government Finance VI (BGLF VI).
PTO was recognized as “the most efficient among Provincial Treasurers in Region 6 in timely and complete submission of the BGLF prescribed reports for Calendar Year 2017.”
It received a plaque of appreciation for its exemplary performance in generating the highest collection efficiency with 106.69 percent in the collection of economic enterprise against BGLF’s regional target.
It also generated the highest absolute amount of P968,272,934.72 from real property tax, business tax, fees and charge and receipts from economic enterprises for 2017. This contributed 55.43 percent to the total local revenue generated by the local government units per income classification in the previous year.
Another plaque was bestowed to PTO for its outstanding performance in generating P968,272,934.70 from real property tax, business tax, fees and charges and receipts from economic enterprise. It contributed 7.63 percent to the Bureau’s total local revenue target.
Acting Provincial Treasurer Jean Maire Umadhay attributed the awards to the hardworking personnel and supportive staff of her office.
“We hope that next year, we will bag more awards,” Umadhay said.
She also thanked Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. for supporting their programs, the Provincial Assessor’s Office led by May Katherine Sullano, and the municipal assessors.
The awards were given by the BGLF and the Regional Association of Treasurers and Assessors in Region VI (REGATA VI) Inc. during the 4th Quarter Conference-Workshop of Provincial/City and Municipal Assessors and Treasurers and their Ranking Personnel on Assessment and Treasury Operations on Dec. 5 at L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City.
