Tough assignment awaits sacked Anilao policemen

ILOILO City – After their retraining, the 23 sacked policemen of Anilao, Iloilo would be deployed to rebel infested areas in Negros Occidental.

“Remember, the Philippine National Police (PNP) leadership is serious in implementing organizational discipline and reforms,” said Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, regional police director.

The police officers started their 45-day retraining at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) here on Dec. 10.

Bulalacao was prompted to relieve the entire Anilao police force after seven of them were caught sleeping while on duty during a surprise inspection by Regional Director Joseph Celis of the National Police Commission on Dec. 6.

Celis also said there was no sentinel on duty that day.

Bulalacao ordered an investigation.

“The result will come out soon and based on the findings, we will know the sanctions that will be imposed,” he said.

But he already indicated the cops’ next area of assignment – Negros Occidental.

The sacked policemen are currently attending the “Focused Reformation Orientation and Morale Enhancement” (FORM) retraining under the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division of the PRO-6.

“We want them to remember what they learned when they were starting at the Philippine National Police,” said Bulalacao.

He expects them to have been “reformed” after the training.

“Otherwise, we will have reason to fire them,” said Bulalacao.  (PNA)
