ILOILO City – Ilongga jumper Alexie Mae Caimoso made her presence felt with two early golds while ILOPRISAA taekwondo jins raked in 18 gold medals at the start of the 2018 Iloilo School Sports Council Meet here.
Caimoso, playing for Iloilo National High School, bagged her first gold in secondary girls high jump on Thursday. Trailing her were silver medalist Kathy Nebreja of CDSA 1 and bronze medal winners Maila Lego (INHS) and Ma. Angela Morales (CDSA 5).
The Leon, Iloilo native Caimoso added another medal to her collection yesterday morning. She ruled the 100-meter hurdles but settled for bronze medal in the 100-meter dash.
In taekwondo events over at PAREF-Westbridge, ILOPRISAA’s Cyd Edryc Esmana captured two gold medals in elementary poomsae category; he ruled the Individual A event and team event with Clyde Chua and Anton Miguel Nafarrete.
Juliana Uy and Elizabeth Marie Borres also had two golds each after ruling the individual girls category before nabbing the team event along with Niesha Kariz Pequierda.
Pequierda and Nafarrete also teamed up for mixed pair gold.
The ILOPRISAA also had four gold medals in kyorugi from Sheriemei Anne Hojilla (girls under 52 cm), Sophia Grace Go (girls over 160 cm), James Ezekiel Chua (boys under 160 cm), and John Badayos (boys over 160 cm).
John Patrick Palonpon also had two gold medals in secondary boys poomsae after ruling individual category and team event with Roivic John Decafe and Jessray Lucas Frantilla.
Elaine Margaret Borres and Cindy Joy Diasnes also had two golds each in individual poomsae and team event with Sophia Marie Tungala. Tungala and Frantilla also bagged a gold in mixed pair.
In kyorugi, Xyrus Andrei Desierto had a gold in secondary boys under 45 kg, while Angela Marie Bermejo ruled the secondary girls under 42 kg.
Settling for silver were Clyde Chua (elementary boys poomsae) and Decafe (secondary boys poomsae).
In other athletics results, Ma. Lara Alibay of CDSA 2 ruled the elementary girls high jump. Trailing her were silver medalist Christel Pamotillo of CDSA 4 and bronze medalists Shane Javier of CDSA 5 and Phrincess Sa-ad of CDSA 1./PN
