Negros Occidental Palarong Panlalawigan unfolding at Panaad

NEGRENSE athletes are set for fight for their place in the regional meet as the 2018 Palarong Panlalawigan is set to unfold Sunday at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

The weeklong sporting event run by the Department of Education, themed “Sports; Building Unity, Producing Champions,” will be held from Dec. 16 to 21 at various venues in Negros Occidental.

Athletics, boxing, swimming, tennis, futsal, and secondary boys’ football are to be played in Panaad. University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos will serve as an alternate venue for secondary football. Secondary volleyball boys will also be at UNO-R.

The Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center will host the secondary volleyball girls, while the secondary boys will be at UNO-R. Elementary boys and girls will be played at the Montalbo Volleyball Court.

Bacolod City National High School will be the venue for archery, arnis and softball, secondary basketball and elementary football will be at STI-West Negros University, while elementary basketball will be at the Negros Occidental Teachers’ Federation covered court.

Baseball will be at Ramon Torres National High School in Bago City; badminton, Pohang Badminton Center; 3×3 basketball, BAYS Center; billiards, 888 China Town Square Premier Mall; gymnastics MAG/WAG at Arrows Badminton Center and RG/Aero, SM Activity Center.

Other venues for Palarong Panlalawigan are G. Lopez Jaena Elementary School covered court for sepak takraw; LOPTTA for table tennis; City Mall-Mandalagan for taekwondo; Negros Occidental High School quadrangle for wushu and pencat silat; N.G. Velez Sports and Cultural Center in Silay City for dance sports; and Riverside College for paralympics./PN
