ILOILO City – A chicken vendor was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Pook, Kalibo, Aklan, a police report showed.
The 42-year-old resident Jerry Sim was caught after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P3,000 around 11:10 p.m. on Dec. 29.
Officers from the Kalibo municipal police station staged the sting operation.
Aside from the buy-bust item, two more sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from Sim, who is a surrenderee under the Philippine National Police’s “Oplan Tokhang” in 2016.
Police said they conducted the operation after receiving information that Sim still sells drugs even after surrendering.
Sim was detained in the lockup cell of the Kalibo police station.
He faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
