JOHN B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University resident choral group Kinaadman Chorale recently performed for Seda Atria’s ‘Season’s Symphonies: A Christmas Dinner Concert’ last December 22 and 23, at the Satin function room of the hotel. Guests were treated to a night of sumptuous food, Yuletide classics and Christmas favorites.
“For us this is a partnership with John B. Lacson Maritime University. It is already our third year with them and we are planning for more concerts to come. It is a very successful night for us – two successful nights.” according to Joseph del Rosario, Hotel Manager of Seda Atria. The Kinaadman Chorale repertoire of songs includes popularized Christmas songs as well as Filipino classics depicting how Filipinos celebrate the Yuletide season.
The first set of songs performed by the musical ensemble includes the following: Christmas is the Best Time of the Year, Jingle Bells Calypso, Carol of the Bells, Miraculous Night, A Christmas Carol, The Prayer, and Seasons of Love. The second, meanwhile, includes: Simbang Gabi, Ilang Tulog Pa Ba, Payapang Daigdig, Pasko na Sinta ko, Diwa ng Pasko, Kumukutikutitap, Sa Paskong Darating, Paskong Anong Saya, and Tuloy na Tuloy pa rin ang Pasko. In between the two sets, guests were serenaded by saxophone player, Archie Velez.
Kinaadman Chorale is led by choir director and conductor Roque S. Magsipoc. The group is recognized for its many achievements and is considered one of the best in Western Visayas. By far, the group is an in-demand choir for corporate events and conventions in Iloilo City./PN
