ILOILO City – A man was killed after he got stabbed in Barangay San Geronimo, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo past midnight yesterday.
The 25-year-old resident Michael Reyes died of a stab wound on the chest, a police report showed.
Police identified the suspect as the 20-year-old Albert Barreto, the lover of Reyes’ 45-year-old mother.
According to the police report, a heated argument ensued between Reyes and Barreto before the former attacked the latter around 12:20 a.m. on Saturday.
Barreto – who fled after the incident – was arrested in a hot pursuit operation in Barangay Natividad, Barotac Viejo.
He was now detained in the lockup cell of the Barotac Viejo police station./PN
