2 men stabbed over water bill

ILOILO City – Two men landed in a hospital after they were stabbed in Barangay Nasapahan, Lemery, Iloilo.

The suspect was their 53-year-old brother-in-law Wilfredo Garridi, police said.

Eduardo Dela Cruz, 36, and Armando Dela Cruz, 42, were rushed to the Western Visayas Medical Center in this city after Garridi attacked them around 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 20, a police report showed.

Eduardo and Armando both sustained stab wounds on the chest. They were currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

Prior to the stabbing, an altercation ensued between the Dela Cruzes and Garridi over a water bill.

Such water bill was also the cause of another altercation between Garridi’s daughter Stephanie and Eduardo earlier that day.

When Stephanie went home, she told her father about the confrontation with her uncle, prompting Garridi to head to the house of the Dela Cruzes.

Garridi was still at large as of this writing. Officers from the Lemery municipal police station launched a manhunt against him./PN
