BACOLOD City – A drug suspect ended up dead after motorcycle-riding men peppered him with bullets in Purok Paraiso, Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
The 52-year-old resident Jose Bugalon Jr. was declared “dead on arrival” at the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City, a police report showed.
The shooting happened around 11 a.m. on Thursday, the report added.
Bugalon – listed as the No. 1 most wanted drug personality in the police station of Kabankalan City – was walking outside his house when two bonnet-donning suspects on board red Kawasaki Rouser 135 motorcycles approached and fired at him.
Drug business gone sour was eyed as motive in the shooting, police said.
Recovered from the crime scene were five fired cartridges and one slug of a .45-caliber gun.
Officers from the Kabankalan City police station have yet to identify the suspects as of this writing./PN
