Bacolodnon Infante debuts for Lady Falcons in UAAP

MANILA – Bacolodnon libero Hannah Infante is set to make her collegiate debut for the Adamson University Lady Falcons in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball, which will open on Feb. 16 at the San Juan Arena.

Infante, a former standout of St. John’s Institute in Bacolod City, said she was ecstatic to be lined up by Lady Falcons head coach Airess Padda but knew that there are still things needed to be done.

“To be honest, it feels great to be lined up for UAAP,” Infante said. “All those hard work and efforts that I have put in during our practices since I committed to the team have finally paid off.”

She added: “However, I know that it should not stop there. Since the season is just about to start, I need to work even harder and also to show to coach Airess that she was right in including me in the lineup.”

Infante, a former libero of the Negros Island Region team, gained the nod of the Lady Falcons’ coaching staff due to her impressive showing in the tryout conducted in Iloilo City in 2017.

Infante already moved to Adamson on the same year and suited up for Junior Lady Falcons in UAAP juniors volleyball in 2018. She also suited up for Lady Falcons’ beach volleyball team in UAAP Season 81 women’s beach volleyball late last year.

“Aside from her versatility, what we liked about Hannah is her vocal leadership. She’s usually the loudest player on the court and communicates well with her teammates,” said Lady Falcons team manager Russell Balbacal.

Infante was one of the two Western Visayas-based volleybelle in Lady Falcons’ roster aside from team captain Christine Joy Soyud, who hails from La Carlota, Negros Occidental./PN
