THE Iloilo KPop Organization is celebrating its 10th anniversary with performances from Korean artists.
The organization, founded in 2009, is hosting “DECENNIAL” on Feb. 16, at Festive Walk Parade from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
WeHigher, a bass EDM duo under DJ Movement Korea, is headlining the celebration. Composed of members Kazu and Crooner, the duo debuted in August 2018 and has performed on popular music shows such as Mnet’s MCountdown, MBC’s Show Champion and KBS’ Music Bank.
The duo produces their own songs and has collaborated with Natural High Records (NHR) owned by BigBang’s Seungri in producing the track Trap Code.
WeHigher has also performed at the World DJ Festival, Ultra Music Festival, and the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics Opening Festival in Seoul.
Those bearing SVIP tickets will have the chance to have an exclusive fanmeeting with the duo.
Sam Kim, a Korean model and internet sensation for three years based in Davao, will also grace the event. Those holding SVIP and VIP tickets can get an exclusive photo op with Kim.
Local K-Pop cover group Power House Philippines (PHP) will also serve as judges during the dance cover contest.
PHP was the 2017 KPop Star Grand Champion and represented the country during the 2017 KPop World Festival in Changwon, South Korea.
They have released two singles – Ikot Lang and Dreaming of You. They will be serenading Ilonggos with their sweet vocals and astounding dance moves.
During the event, fans and bystanders will also be treated to Korean bazaars and official fanclub booths.
IKO was founded on Feb. 2, 2009 by a group of seven friends who share equal love for Korean culture. It has gradually grown into an organization that served as a hub for hundreds of K-Pop enthusiasts in Panay and Guimaras islands.
Through the years, IKO has hosted more than 100 events varying from dance cover contests, mini concerts, music awards, dance workshops, conventions, fairs and exhibits, charity events, and sport Olympics. It has been a constant partner of the Iloilo Korean United Community Association and the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines for the hosting of the Korean Film Festival at SM City Iloilo since 2013.
IKO also embodies a dutiful organization by hosting various charity events for the benefit of World Vision./PN
