TEN teams are set to compete in the 16th Iloilo Paraw Regatta National Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament slated on Feb. 16 to 17 at Joe III Garden at the beachfront in Villa Arevalo.
Moises Salomon of Iloilo City Sports Development Division said the teams are set to be divided into two groups of five. The top two from each group will advance to the semifinals with the winners advancing to the knockout finals.
Among those who are set to participate are defending champions Beach Volleyball Republic team of Negrense Bea Tan and Floriemel Rodrigues and Ilonggas Dhannalyn Mae Demontaño and Jackielyn Estoquia of Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors.
Also competing were Ilonggas Roma Joy and Roma Mae Doromal of National University, Babylove Barbon and Genesa Eslapor of University of Santo Tomas and Julie Pearl Soco and Christer Claro of University of Cebu.
Other teams are University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos-A’s Alexa Polidario and Erjane Magdato, UNO-R B Jessalen Moises and Jennymar Serares, St. John’s Institute’s Lorien Gamboa and Ruby Casiple, Smash Bacolod’s Margie Senas and Bianca Lizares, and Glaudine Trongcoso and Dessa Mae Puyo of Central Philippine University.
The two-day beach volleyball event will be free to public with matches scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tournament champions will receive P25,000 while second, third and fourth placers will have P15,000, P10,000 and P5,000, respectively./PN
