BACOLOD City – A farmer was shot and stabbed to death in Barangay Bagonbon, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the victim as 50-year-old resident Rogelio Garing.
Garing sustained gunshot wounds on his back and stab wounds on his head, a police report showed.
According to investigation, the 35-year-old resident Toy Caruscay shot Garing using a pistol around 7 a.m. on Monday.
Garing was managed to run from Caruscay but the suspect chased and hacked him using a bladed weapon, police said.
It was not immediately clear what was the motive in the incident.
Officers from the San Carlos City police station were still locating Caruscay, who fled./PN
