BACOLOD City – The Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) imposed another power rate increase – from P11.3527 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) in January to P11.4991 per kWh in February.
The P0.1464 per kWh rate increase this month is due to the upward adjustment in the “pass-through charges,” according to Ceneco’s Member-Consumer Integrated Services Division chief Roel Venus.
These pass-through charges – which comprise 89.68 percent, or P10.3125 per kWh, of the total monthly rate – include generation and transmission charges, Energy Regulatory Commission-approved adjustments, and government subsidies and taxes.
The remaining 10.32 percent, or P1.1866 per kWh, is for Ceneco’s distribution, supply and metering (DSM) fee and the Reinvestment Fund for Sustainable Capital Expenditure (RFSC) fee that funds the administrative and operational services of the power cooperative.
Venus said their DSM and RFSC fees have not increased since 2010.
In January, Ceneco has implemented an increase of P0.1717 per kWh.
Ceneco advises its member-consumes to conserve electricity to pay lower bills.
