BACOLOD City β The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) have joined the Philippine Crop Insurance Corp. (PCIC) to provide a P1-billion in-crop insurance protection to the agrarian-reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Negros Occidental.
DAR secretary John Castricionesa and PCIC president Jovy Bernabe formalized the partnership through signing a memorandum of agreement at Balay Kauswagan in Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Friday.
Cited on the agreement was the provision of ARBsβ protection against agricultural production losses.
Around 515,000 ARBs listed in the registry system of 2019 will be granted premium agricultural insurance coverage subsidy.
DAR and PCIC will also create three teams to ensure effective program implementation.(With PNA/PN)
