BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panglungsod has approved in first reading the proposed ordinance granting hazard pay to traffic enforcers in the city.
Cited on the proposed ordinance authored by City Councilor Dindo, traffic enforcers are prone to road accidents since they manned the flow of traffic in the city.
“Their strict implementation of traffic ordinances lead to apprehension of erring motorists and sometimes may result to verbal altercations against the violators,” said Ramos.
The traffic enforcers will receive a P2,000 monthly pay on top of their existing monthly salary.
Ramos said the traffic enforcers will be required to present valid appointments from the city government, accomplishments reports and must render at least 20 days of service in a month to avail the financial assistance.
