Cadiz ‘kap’ hurt in road mishap

BACOLOD City – The owner-type jeep he was driving hit a truck while navigating the road in Barangay Paraiso, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, police said.

The 58-year-old village chief Harry Lamis of Barangay Magsaysay, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental was injured, a police report showed.

Lamis was with his 55-year-old wife Melinda, son Ernesto, daughter-in-law Genelyn, and grandchildren Erlyn, John Mark and Joemarie – who were also hurt – when the crash happened at Crossing San Agustin around 11 p.m. on March 12.

They were brought to the Lopez District Farmers Foundation Hospital in Sagay City for treatment.

The 31-year-old truck driver Marvin Besa, meanwhile, was detained in the lockup cell of the Sagay City police station.

It was not immediately clear what circumstances caused the crash. The police were still investigating./PN
