MANILA – F2 Logistics Cargo Movers cruised to a 25-22, 25-21, 25-22 straight set win over the United Volleyball Club in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix 2019 at the San Juan Arena.
Lindsay Stalzer led the way with 12 points on Thursday night while Victorinara Galang chipped in 10 markers.
The Cargo Movers tightened its hold on the second spot with a 7-1 win-loss slate.
UVC has been ahead for most part of the opening set before the Cargo Movers made its run behind the service aces of Alex Cabanos and Galang’s attacks to turn a 19-21 deficit to a 24-21 lead.
Both teams had a tight exchange in the second frame before the Cargo Movers unloaded a 5-0 scoring run to break away from 18-all score and take a decisive 2-0 set edge.
UVC showed some life anew in the third frame as it kept in step with the Cargo Movers. But the latter gained headway late in the set with the opponent handing out consecutive turnovers.
“Mas nakaka-adjust na kami ngayon. Kahit may mga lapses pa, medyo nakakakuha na kami ng bwelo,” said F2 Logistics head coach Ramil De Jesus whose squad still missed the services of injured Kim Dy and Kim Fajardo.
For the erratic UVC, Kalei Mau finished with 18 points while Yaasmeen Bedart-Ghani contributed 17 markers.
UVC dropped to 4-4 win-loss card.
Meanwhile, Generika-Ayala Lifesavers rediscovered its deadly form to crush Cignal HD Spikers, 25-17, 25-20, 25-22.
Thai import Kanjana Kuthaisong and Ilongga Fiola Ceballos had 14 markers each for the Lifesavers./PN
