ILOILO City – A heated argument led to hacking in Barangay Camalongo, Calinog, Iloilo, a police report showed.
The 49-year-old farmer Victor Villarus was rushed to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district due to hack wounds he sustained after the March 15 incident.
The 25-year-old Rizalino Esmana was tagged as the suspect.
According to the police, Villarus and Esmana – both residents of Barangay Camalongo – were having a drinking binge around 11 p.m. when an altercation ensued between them.
This prompted Esmana to hack Villarus on the forehead and right hand, police said.
Officers from the Calinog municipal police station were still hunting Esmana, who fled after the incident./PN
