MANILA – University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses make a quick work of Adamson University Lady Falcons, 25-15, 25-12, 25-16, in UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball on Wednesday at the San Juan Arena.
Rookie Ennajie Laure led the way with 17 points, on 15 attacks and two blocks, for the Golden Tigresses, which moved up to solo second place in the standings with 6-3 win-loss slate.
Caitlyn Viray came up with career-best 14 points, on nine attacks, three service aces and two blocks, while Mary Dominique Pacres and Cherry Rondina had 12 and 10 markers, respectively, for UST.
Still hurting from their five setter loss to the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles, the Golden Tigresses started strong against the Lady Falcons as they erected a 21-10 start en route to an easy set win.
UST continued to pound on the lowly Adamson as its second set lead reached to 21-11 before walloping the Lady Falcons anew in the third set to complete a straight set victory.
Mary Joy Dacoron finished with eight points, while Chiara Permentilla added five markers for the Lady Falcons, which slumped to last place in the standings with 1-8 record./PN
