BACOLOD City – “Hindi ako yan.”
This was the statement of Police Colonel Henry F. Binas after he was associated to a relieved policeman involved in a scam complaint in General Santos.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director clarified that his first and last name are similar to the police officer that was facing the scam allegations.
“It’s not me. My middle initial is letter “F”, while the person being complained has letter “P” Biñas said.
He said they even have a different rank and jurisdiction.
“I am a Colonel while he is a Lieutenant Colonel and I am assigned here in Bacolod City while he was designated in Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12) in Soccsksargen,” Biñas said.
The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) also clarified Biñas’ non-association.
“Colonel Henry F. Binas of the BCPO is a different person from Lieutenant Colonel Henry P. Binas of PRO-12 ,” PRO-6 stated.
Speculations of the BCPO directors’ association on the scam charges have spread after three PRO-12’s high-ranking police officers based in General Santos City were allegedly involved in a P2 billion investment scam./PN
