THE PROVINCIAL government of Negros Occidental will again be hosting this year’s edition of “Panaad sa Negros” where the best of the province will be showcased.
This will be another opportunity to visit and experience the best offers of Negros Occidental’s 13 cities and 19 municipalities as they showcase their products, arts and culture, tourism destinations, trade and investments, livelihood skills, and even sports, in this weeklong festivity.
Because of this, Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo G. Marañon Jr. is inviting everyone, particularly agriculture enthusiasts and agripreneurs, to join and witness the 26th edition of the “festival of all festivals” which will be conducted from April 8 to 14 at the vast Panaad Park in Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Earlier, Panaad has been adjudged by the Department of Tourism and the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines as the “Best Tourism Event-Provincial Category” in the Philippines.
Different exciting activities have been lined-up for this year’s edition of “Panaad” which include, among many others, organic agriculture fair, livestock and dairy fair, trade fair and exhibit, eco-garden show, and the unique bamboo village where various products made out of bamboo will be presented.
Of interest to agri enthusiasts will be the Organik na Negros Agri-Fair and Agri-Clinic; Negros First Food Park; PVO Livestock and Dairy Fair; Eco-Garden Show; Solid Waste Management Advocacy; and Simply Bamboo Exhibit.
Other events which will be on April 9 include Biosecurity Measures for Farms; Forum on Plant Propagation at the Organic Village; Cassava Food Processing; Bamboo Business Forum; Gamefowl Management and Disease Prevention and Control; and Meat Cutting Demo (Butchery).
On April 10, there will be Seminars on Organic Native Chicken; Mushroom Opportunities; Vegetable Value Adding; Training on Bamboo Weaving; Tourism Agri-Trade Fair; Gamefowl Nutrition and Diseases; African Swine Fever Seminar.
Then on April 11: Agriculture and Fisheries Forum; Cassava Food Processing; Training on Bamboo Utensils; Basic Farm Management and Updates on Diseases.
On April 12: Piglet Nutrition and Management Seminar; Farm Mechanization Seminar; Technology on Bamboo shoot preservation and food preparation; Inter-school Livestock and Poultry Quiz Show; Mushroom Production seminar.
On April 13: Pet Parade/Annual Dog Walk; Farmers and Fisherfolk Congress; Talk on Responsible Pet Ownership.
On April 14: Organik na Negros Agri-Fair and Agri-Clinic; All Breed Championship Conformation Dog Show.
Aside from these activities, the province of Negros Occidental also has beautiful scenic spots, parks, exotic resorts, mountains, caves and other natural wonders that offer potentials for private investment in tourism projects and related support services.

She says Negros Occidental is an illustration of a sound environment management, with two protected forest areas (Mount Kanlaon and Northern Negros Natural Parks), and two marine reservations (Sagay Marine Reserve and Danjugan Island Marine Sanctuary) that are home to various species of flora, fauna and marine life.
