KALIBO, Aklan – Eight women organizations were feted during the celebration of the 2019 Women’s Month to recognize their significant contribution to mobility and progress in the province.
The awardees include the Kalipunan ng Maliliit na Magniniyog sa Napaan Multi-purpose Cooperative of Napaan, Malay, Aklan; Boracay Women Producers Cooperative in Malay, Aklan; Makato Women’s Council Association of Makato, Aklan; Rural Improvement Club of Estancia, Kalibo, Aklan; Empowered Women Association of Aklan; Altavas Local Council of Women; Batan Rural Improvement Club Mandong Chapter, and Soroptimist International of Kalibo.
These organizations, actively participating in rural life, have garnered local, regional and national recognitions.
They are also the first batch of awardees in the province to sustain this gesture next year and onwards.
The 2019 Women’s Month celebration in Aklan was held on March 22 at the ABL Sports Complex in this capital town.
The provincial government spearheaded the event in cooperation with the Aklan Gender and Development Commission. (With a report from PIA/PN)
