KRIS Aquino announced that she will temporarily be taking a break from social media.
She cited her complicated medical diagnosis as the reason for this, acknowledging the tag “drama queen” given to her by trolls and bashers.
“They’ve been right. This has been my best acting in my life: outwardly showing you that I was keeping it together, when deep inside I’ve been consumed by real depression, primarily because of my complicated medical diagnosis,” she said.
Aquino said she has decided to leave Instagram for now because she has to stop pretending she is okay.
“I need to make peace with all that’s broken within me. And I need to do that PRIVATELY. I’m sure you’re now making bets on how long this will last, BUT I’m taking control, so my return is up to me, when I’m ready. Sana may mababalikan pa ko. Kung wala, wala pong sisihan,” she said.
Aquino then addressed both her supporters and bashers who may be taking her decision to leave social media in different ways.
“If you wish me well, sincerely, THANK YOU. If you are saying ‘thank you, good riddance’ – YOU’RE WELCOME,” she said.
In a Facebook Live broadcast last January, Aquino said she is battling “a form of lupus.”
“Ang inamin ko po sa inyo was the chronic spontaneous urticaria and that is true. I did not want to specify, because my attorney told me na huwag ko sabihin iyong mga allergies kasi pinapadali mo for your enemies to kill you,” Aquino said.
“But now I can tell you the truth, I’m allergic to every single medicine that can cure you or at least manage your symptoms kung may lupus ka. All my doctors are doing now is delaying it. They’re delaying the inevitable.”
Currently, Aquino has an ongoing legal battle with her ex-business partner Nicko Falcis. (ABS-CBN News)
