YES, THIS is about those brown skinned natives who wannabe “mestizas” smothering themselves 24/7 with those whitening soaps advertised to “bring out the mestiza in you”, and other stupid racists.
Of course, any sensible person knows that being a mestiza or mestizo has to do with your genes, more specifically the genes you inherit from your parents where one happens to be Caucasian and the other a native.
So no amount of skin whitening soap will bring out the mestiza in you as you’re not. The result, of course, from smothering yourself with these whitening soaps is a pug-nosed native with a face that’s a “whiter shade of pale” while the rest of the body is still café latte.
Or worse, you may succeed in finally bleaching yourself “mestiza white” from head to foot after all those years of bathing and smothering yourself with whitening soap and creams while the rest of the family are still “brown as a nut” or kayumangi.
If that mestiza happens to be you, avoid standing close to your family as you stand out like a pale sore thumb.
The best example of that phenomena is singer/actress Regine Velasquez a.k.a. Regine Alcasid who just added to her resumé as the foremost expert on the West Philippines Sea or South China Sea and giant clams.
In case you haven’t noticed she is a “whiter shade of pale” while her siblings, including her parents, are as “brown as a nut”.
These idiots were born brown-skinned Pinoys but cannot accept their “assigned” race or ethnicity so they identify themselves as fair-skinned Caucasians.
Let me just park these definitions for the uninitiated before we segue to juicier topics still on xenophobia, of course.
Racist is a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another.
Stupid is knowing the truth, seeing the truth, but still believing the lies.
Xenophobia is dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries.
The other day I was doing a leisurely walking tour of Iloilo Viejo or downtown as the natives prefer to call it. While walking along Calle Real several things caught my attention. It seems from Iznart Street to JM Basa then Mapa up to Guanco and Aldeguer and finally Ledesma streets, all if not 90 percent of the existing business establishments are owned and operated by ethnic Chinese. In fact right smack in the middle of Calle Real is an arch aptly named the “Filipino-Chinese Friendship Arch”, a very prominent landmark proclaiming that you’re in Chinatown.
I also noticed two very prominent Chinese schools in the area and also two very popular – not only to the natives but visitors and tourists as well – eateries: one famous for its siopao, the other one for its pancit and pan de leche. Of course both are operated and owned by ethnic Chinese.
Take note that most if not all of these business establishments and schools have long existed and have been operating there before Moi was even born and take note also that Moi is a senior citizen.
Moving on to Iloilo Nuevo, the biggest developer responsible for this unprecedented growth is owned by an ethnic Chinese, likewise for all the huge malls; just name one and it is owned by an ethnic Chinese.
So yes, the nightmare that the “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon” have been trying their bloody best to scare the natives is already, if not has been, happening long before idiots like Trillanes, Alejano, Del Rosario, and Morales were even born.
The Chinese have taken over the Philippines and its President Rodrigo Duterte’s fault.
Let me put it this way: if you like and buy the pancit and pan de leche of Dainty’s Restaurant and the siopaos of Roberto’s, or perhaps have studied in Sun Yat Sen High School or Hua Siong College of Iloilo, then according to the logic of the “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon” you are a traitor, a collaborator to the Chinese who have invaded these islands.
Never mind the fact that these “Chinese” have been here long before Rodrigo Duterte was born. Scratch a Filipino and you’ll find a Chinese lurking somewhere in his DNA.
So why do we have this wave of racism and xenophobia all targeting the Chinese coming from the “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon” and the rest of the social-climbing so-called millennials?
Quite simple really, it all has to do with the fact that they don’t like President Rodrigo Duterte.
The bone of contention is Scarborough Shoal in the West Philippine Sea or the South China Sea. We lost it because of the stupidity and arrogance of Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, then Department of Foreign Affairs secretary Albert del Rosario and that nincompoop then President Noynoy Aquino, and now they’re blaming President Rodrigo Duterte when all these stupidity happened before his watch but during the watch of Noynoy Aquino.
