ILOILO City – A man stabbed his elder sister in Barangay Pakiad, Oton, Iloilo, a police report showed.
The 48-year-old Alex Melecoton turned himself in to the municipal police station wielding a 24-inch bolo on Friday.
According to the report, Melecoton and his 54-year-old sister Rita Barinque had a heated argument around 4:30 p.m. that day.
It was however not immediately clear what triggered the altercation, which prompted Melecoton to attack his sister using the bolo.
Barinque sustained multiple stab wounds on the body. She was rushed to the at Western Visayas Medical Center where she expired.
Melecoton, on the other hand, was detained in the lockup cell of the Oton police station./PN
