Grave threats complaint vs Kris Aquino dismissed

A GRAVE threats complaint filed against Kris Aquino by her former business partner Nicko Falcis and his brother, Atty. Jesus Falcis, has been dismissed, the actress-host said on Friday.

In an Instagram post, Aquino shared photos of the resolution of the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office junking the complaint, citing lack of probable cause.

The Falcis siblings’ complaint was in connection with Aquino’s alleged death threat over the phone – a heated conversation that was recorded and made the rounds online early this year.

The resolution cited lack of evidence as well as Nicko Falcis’ lack of immediate steps to report to authorities, or to file a complaint, after the alleged threat took place in September 2018.

Aquino, in January, apologized for her words as heard in the recording, admitting that she had uttered them out of anger.

“It’s easy to judge others, I’ve fallen into that trap, too. But it’s hard to live that person’s life. Ang dami kong nabasa, narinig, at napanood, mga hindi na mabilang na panlalait sa buong pagkatao ko. How did I survive? Because I told the truth,” Aquino wrote.

“I am proof we are all flawed humans. But setting me apart from my legal adversaries, I immediately and bravely faced accountability for my actions. Hindi ako nag-pretend sa inyo na ‘perfect’ ako… And we stuck to the issues,” she added.

Aquino has accused Falcis of theft amounting to P1.27 million, allegedly as he made personal purchases using a credit card she had entrusted him for transactions involving the actress’ eponymous production company.

She filed a total of seven qualified theft complaints against Falcis, one each in Mandaluyong, Makati, Taguig, Quezon City, Manila, Pasig, and San Juan.

The complaints filed before the respective prosecutor’s office of Pasig, Makati, and Taguig have all been dismissed. Aquino withdrew the case in Mandaluyong, leaving only three complaints (San Juan, Manila, Quezon City) without a publicized resolution.

The Taguig prosecutor, in lieu of going forward with the theft complaint, recommended the filing of estafa and fraudulent use of access device against Falcis. (ABS-CBN News)
