KALIBO, Aklan – The provincial government has embarked on a P2-million pilot project aimed to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the agriculture sector through a greenhouse facility.

The project, located at the Aklan Provincial Seed Production Center in this capital town, is the first government facility in Panay.

With the greenhouse’s protected structure, the environmental factors for optimal plant growth are controlled and plants are being protected from pests and diseases.

According to the provincial government, the project will enhance the domestic production of vegetables and strengthen the capabilities of local producers.

The facility will also serve as a training ground to enhance competencies and open more income-generating opportunities for Aklanon farmers. (With a report from Aklan Provincial Government/PN)
