BACOLOD City – The board of election inspectors (BEIs) in the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Elementary School in this capital city conducted final testing and sealing of vote counting machines (VCMs) for May 13 elections.
Famyra Derayunan, BEI chief, said they already checked the machine prior to Monday’s casting of votes.
“We need to read and study our manuals for the guidelines as well as organize our materials like pens and inks,” said Derayunan on Friday.
She added a mock poll was also conducted to test the veracity of the machines witnessed by representatives of the local candidates.
“Physically, we also need to prepare our mind and body,” Derayunan said.
She noted after the polling procedures, votes will immediately be transmitted and BEIs will submit their reports to BAYS Center and the Bacolod Government Center.
“We are praying and hoping for smooth elections in the country, I think everyone is praying for that. And that, we will not encounter problems on our VCMs,” Derayunan added.
City Election Officer Anne Janette Lamban meanwhile said all BEIs are required to report to their poll precincts assignments at 3 a.m. on May 13. (With a report from PIA/PN)
