‘Tanod’ shot to death

BACOLOD City – A village watchman was shot to death in Barangay Tabu, Ilog, Negros Occidental.

The 52-year-old resident Jesus Patina sustained gunshot wounds on the body, a police report showed.

According to police investigation, Patina was on his way home when three gunmen peppered him with bullets around 6 a.m. on Thursday.

Patina was brought to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”

One of the suspects meanwhile was identified as 28-year-old resident Corcor Goco, the report added.

It was not immediately established what was the motive in the shooting.

Officers of the Ilog municipal police station conducted a manhunt operation against the suspect, who fled after the incident./PN
