Bacolod police chief wants Reds declared ‘persona non grata’

BACOLOD City – Colonel Henry Biñas, the city’s police chief, wants to declare members of the Communist Army of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) as “persona non grata.”

“This pertains to the declaration of persona non grata against CPP-NPA by some local government units in the areas of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” Biñas cited on his letter addressed to Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran.

According to Biñas, terrorism, violent extremism and other forms of lawlessness of the communist insurgents only brings extreme poverty and misery to the people.

The Bacolod City Police Office chief also believes the atrocities perpetrated by the communist-terrorist group is a manifestation of betrayal of achieving peace, thus, disrupting the peace and order situation of the province.

Familiaran meanwhile said the Committee on Police Matters already received Binas’ letter and assessing the possible legal actions./PN
