ILOILO City – A theft suspect was arrested in Barangay VIII, Roxas City, Capiz for carrying a knife.
Detained inside the lockup cell of the Roxas City police station was Jemboy Bacud, 18, of Barangay Libas, Roxas City.
He was arrested by the police manning a checkpoint at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Bacud tried to evade arrest but failed.
Recovered from his possession was a 9-inch knife, police said.
It was later found out that Bacud is a suspect in the May 14 robbery in Barangay XI, Roxas City victimizing retired police officer Orly Baril.
Bacud will face charges for resisting arrest and for violation of the election gun ban./PN
