TAEKWONDO jins from A. Diasnes Taekwondo Gym took the overall championship of the Boracay Open 2019 Regional New Face Taekwondo Championships at City Mall Boracay in Malay, Aklan.
The delegation, led by head coach Flora Navales, took home 27 golds, 10 silver and seven bronze medals while participating in kyorugi and poomsae events.
Taking home gold medals in kyorugi were Lexter Jun Castor, Johnniel Andre Cabaraca, Joff Silvederio, Boon Dominic Kiong Poh, Klieven Russ Palma, Iesu Ray Opena, Hannah Dello, Czharina Morris, Franz Angelo Fernandez and Angel Quizon.
Bagging silver in kyorugi were Rufino Antonio Barrato, Harish Vijay Sakhti, Dwayne Cyrus Homalayan, Zhein Mark Villan, Ashley Dello, Blue Francis Mardoquio and Janus Miquel Tacsagon, while bronze medal winners were Krizz John Villa, Franchesca Paredes, Jelyan Niones and Jairuz Luc Kriztorei Lagon
Paolo Vito Gonzales, Niones and Kyle Chin have two gold medals each in poomsae, while Lyn Owen Santacera, Joycie Pearl Tacuel, Kershel Silava, Lansil Andrew Brotarlo, Janus Miguel Tacsagon, Jairus Luc Kriztorei Lagon, Anton Miguel Nafarrete, Ashley Dello, Francesca Paredes, Franchesca Agulto, Jan Mayen Niones and Johnniel Andrei Cabaraca also had poomsae gold.
Winning poomsae silvers were Lyn Owem Santacera, Jasmine Niones, Jan Mayen, Lansil Andrew Brotarlo and bronze winners were John Lizter Castor, Arsie Sacapano and Joycie Pearl Tacuel.
Meanwhile, Jocas taekwondo gym of head coach Jojo Castro also emerged with 12 medals in the competition.
Winning golds in kyorugi were Elisha Venice Aguilar, Neilin Jo Samson, James Macasaet, Javier Macasaet, Therese Marie Parcon and Sophia Portillo, while Sophia Portillo and Juan Antonio Portillo bagged silver.
Antonio Miguel Nafarrete was the lone gold medal winner in poomsae with Juan Antonio Portillo, Sophia Portillo and Therese Marie Parcon contributing bronze./PN
