BACOLOD City – The P37.20-million esplanade project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in this city will soon be open to public.
Engineer Ferdinand Magada, DPWH construction section chief, said they have yet to schedule the inauguration of the multi-million project.
“The project is all done. There will be an inauguration but as of now we have to conduct a final inspection to check the actual work,” he explained.
DPWH city district engineer Abraham Villareal meanwhile said Bacolod Esplanade will be a prime attraction in the city.
“This project will attract foreign and local visitors and it will boost the tourism industry of the city,” Villareal noted.
The esplanade project was initiated by Cong. Greg Gasataya. It was built near the Lupit River, going downstream half a kilometer from Bacolod City Government Center in Barangay Villamonte.
“It is similar to the one in Iloilo City,” Gasataya said.
