PNP to probe Chinese man over ‘shabu’ smuggling

“Co is said to be on the Interpol watch-list and among the wanted personalities in China. Panfilo Lacson.

MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) was investigating the background of Chinese national Jacky Co, whom Sen. Panfilo Lacson alleged as behind the P1.8-million worth of “shabu” smuggling.

PNP spokesman police Colonel Bernard Banac at Camp Crame said they were looking on available records about Co, who was allegedly behind the 276 kilos of “shabu” smuggled in the country last March.

In his privilege speech at the Senate on Wednesday, Lacson said Co, alias Zhijian Xu, was behind the 276 kilograms of “shabu” confiscated at the Manila International Container Port.

“Co is said to be on the Interpol watch-list and among the wanted personalities in China.

Lacson criticized the Bureau of Immigration since Co was able to fly in-and-out of the country despite being on the Interpol watch-list. /PN
