BACOLOD City – An employee of the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative was shot dead in Barangay Caliling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.
He was 51-year-old Jimmy Gabiola, who sustained a gunshot wound on the head, a police report showed.
Gabiola – resident of Barangay Orong, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental – was conducting a clearing operation with his colleague when an unidentified gunman shot him around 2:30 p.m. on June 1, the report added.
It was not immediately established what was the motive in the shooting.
Officers of the Cauayan municipal police station have yet to identify the suspect, who fled after the incident./PN
