Pa, son wounded in Sipalay shooting

BACOLOD City – A man and his son were wounded in a shooting incident in Barangay Cabadiangan, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

The 65-year-old Welfredo Caballero and his 29-year-old son Donald sustained gunshot wounds on the body, a police report showed.

The suspects were identified as residents Boboy Vendersin and Roger Pedrosa, it added.

According to police investigation, the Caballeros were crossing the river to visit a farm when the suspects peppered them with bullets around 9:30 a.m. on June 18.

They were brought to the Sipalay City Health Office for medical treatment.

It was not immediately established what was the motive in the incident.

The suspects were detained in the custodial facility of the Sipalay City police station, facing charges./PN
