MANILA – Eight Western Visayas-based players – four from Iloilo and four from Negros Occidental – are suiting up for the NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball which kicks off this weekend.
University of Perpetual Help Altas will be parading three Region 6 players in Ilonggo Edgar Charcos, Negrenses Lance Jomalesa of Bacolod City and Nathaniel Sevilla of Talisay City.
Jomalesa and Sevilla are both incoming rookies for the Altas after playing for De La Salle Zobel Junior Archers last year. Charcos is on his second year in the school after transferring from University of the East Red Warriors.
College of St. Benilde Blazers also have three WV-based cagers in Iloilo City-native Edward Dixon, Yankie Haruna of Pototan, Iloilo and rookie Chris Flores from Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Also returning for their respective squads are Ilonggo Clint Doliguez of defending champion San Beda University Red Lions and Negrense Spencer Pretta of the Lyceum Pirates.
Other schools seeing action in the NCAA this season are the Letran Knights, Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, Mapua Cardinals, Arellano University Chiefs, Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers, and San Sebastian College Stags./PN
