BACOLOD City – The committees in the 10th Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) now have their respective chairpersons.
The delegation was done during SP’s inaugural session on Wednesday.
The agreed committee chairpersonships were:
* Councilor Cindy Rojas – Committee on Finance and Appropriations and Committee on Health and Sanitation
* Councilor Elmer Sy – Committee on Public Works and Committee on Fire, Natural Disasters and Calamities
* Councilor Dindo Ramos – Committee on Laws, Ordinances and Good Government, Committee on Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, and Committee on Transportation and Traffic
* Councilor Bartolome Orola – Committee on Markets and Slaughterhouse and Committee on Government Assets.
* Councilor Anna Marie Palermo – Committee on Social Services and Development-Women and Gender and Committee on Labor and Overseas Workers
* Councilor Israel Salanga – Committee on Tourism, Committee on Local, National and International Cooperation, and Committee on Cooperatives and Livelihood Programs
* Councilor Archie Baribar – Committee on Urban Planning, Development and General Services, Committee on Senior Citizens and Veterans Affairs, and Committee on Energy and Public Utility
* Councilor Al Victor Espino – Committee on Information and Communications Technology, Committee on Police Matters, Peace and Order and Illegal Drugs, and Committee on Ways and Means
* Councilor Carl Lopez – Committee on Environment and Ecology and Committee on Agriculture and Agrarian Concern
* Councilor Simple Distrito – Committee on Family and Child Care Development and Committee on Human Resource Development
* Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. – Committee on History, Culture and Arts and Committee on Human Rights
* Councilor Renecito Novero – Committee on Education, Urban Poor, Housing and Resettlement and Committee on Trade, Commerce and Industry
* Councilor Lady Gles Pallen (Liga nga mga Barangay president) – Committee on Barangay Affairs
* Councilor Ayesha Joy Villafor (Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president) – Committee on Youth, Sports, and SK Affairs
Among the council members, two are neophytes – Salanga and Distrito.
Baribar, Espino and Lopez, meanwhile, are returning councilors.
The rest – Rojas, Sy, Novero, Ramos, Orola, Palermo, and Gamboa – are reelected.
They are all headed by reelected Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran./PN
