SAN JOSE, Antique – Governor Rhodora Cadiao is working closely with the offices of Human Resource and Management, Treasurer, Accounting, and Budget under the provincial government to facilitate the release of  job order (JO) workers’ salaries.

“I learned that there are 365 job hires at the provincial government, especially the doctors and nurses, who are leaving because of their delayed salaries,” Cadiao said last week.

She added that fast-tracking the release of their salaries would entail streamlining the signatories in the processing of their documents.

“I learned that there are six or seven signatures that are needed in the processing of documents,” the governor said, adding the job hires only receive their salaries after two to three months because of the signatories.

Cadiao already instructed chief officers of the concerned offices to study how they could limit the number of signatories to just one or two so that the JOs could receive their salaries on time.

“I want to put a stop to the red tape,” she stressed.

The chiefs of offices, in a meeting with Cadiao last July 2, committed to doing their best to expedite the documents so long as the JOs also submit complete documents, such as their approved daily time record, accomplishment report, and contract.

A job order worker, Rollo Vicente, said he is happy with the move to expedite the release of their salaries since they also need money to meet their day-to-day needs.

“I am really happy that governor Cadiao is addressing our plight now because we are also dependent on our salaries for our subsistence,” he said. (With a report from PNA/PN)
