WITH the recent controversy online between the couple celebrity Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson, Marjorie Baretto came to rescue her daughter, Julia Barretto, whose name found its way into the rift.
Marjorie responded to claims that Julia and Gerald are having an affair after a photo of them together in Rayver Cruz’s birthday party was posted online. The former actress clarified that Julie and Gerald are, in fact, nothing but “friends.”
“Please explain too that this was taken at the party of Rayver. That you zoomed in this photo. If you care to zoom out, you will see that they were a big group that includes my nephew, [sic]” argued Marjorie on the now-viral photos of her daughter with Gerald during the party.
“I don’t see anything wrong with this photo. They don’t seem to be hiding. There are people around, and if I’m not mistaken, Julia was waving at someone. This is not a date. They know each other, they have worked together, they are friends,” she said.
The mother of five also stated that she will take legal action against the fan (of Bea) who was responsible for the “false accusations” involving Julia.
Gerald added fuel to the fire after fans noticed that he liked a fan’s Instagram post about constantly being “misjudged” while in the thick of the drama. “Hindi na bago sa amin makakita or makabasa ng mga panghuhusga sa ‘yo,” reads the caption. “What they know is just your name and a piece of ‘story.’ Let them be! We always got your back!”
Following their short-lived romance in 2010, Bea and Gerald rekindled their relationship when they co-starred in the film“How to Be Yours” in 2016.
Just last year, rumors circulated that the two had separated, but Bea confirmed sometime in October that they were back together again and had given Gerald “another chance.”
Meanwhile, Julia had just broken up with Joshua Garcia. Prior to the split, she and Gerald co-starred as a love team in the romance-drama film “Between Maybes.” (Push)
