ROXAS City – A man was hacked to death in Barangay Alasaging, Maayon, Capiz.
The 38-year-old resident Marlon Villasin died of hack wounds on the head and body, police said.
Villasin was allegedly drunk when he had an altercation with 56-year-old Alfredo Villanueva around 8 p.m. on July 27.
“Gingubat ni Villasin sang away si Villanueva pero ginhambalan sya sang bata sini nga tani magkadto sya sa ila balay nga wala makainom para ka istorya sila sang iya nga Papa,” said Maayon police station chief Lieutenant Marc Anthony Garcia.
Villasin then attacked Villanueva’s 17-year-old son using a bolo, added Garcia.
This prompted Villanueva to retaliate by hacking Villasin.
Police investigators are looking at personal grudge as the motive in the incident.
Villanueva, who voluntarily surrendered, was now detained in the lockup cell of the municipal police station. Charges for homicide will be filed against him./PN
