ROXAS City – Three suspected drug peddlers were arrested in a buy-bust operation in this city.
Police identified them as 23-year-old Cristel Ann Alcazaren, 25-year-old John Mark Distor and Jet Jet Alberto.
Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad, Roxas city police station chief, said the suspects were caught during an entrapment operation in Barangay VIII around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
Recovered from their possession were eight sachets of suspected shabu worth around P67,000, a cellphone and P500 marked money.
“The suspects were placed under surveillance for almost 3 weeks,” Roxas City police station spokesperson Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles told Panay News.
At the course of the arrest, Alberto fought back but was later subdued by the arresting officers.
He sustained bruises and injury on the face, police said.
The suspects were detained in the lockup facility of the Roxas City police station.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them./PN
