MANILA – Negrense boxer Allan Vallespin takes on Junior Kauko Raka of Papua New Guinea tonight at St. John Guise Stadium Indoor Complex at Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
The Bacolod City native was on a slump recently. He dropped his last two matches in Japan against Musashi Mori on July 2018 and Yoshimitsu Kimura in February this year.
Vallespin, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) No. 11th ranked super featherweight boxer, had a short time to prepare for the bout against Raka after being informed just recently.
He was initially set to defend his Philippine Games and Amusements Board super featherweight belt against Glenn Enterina on Saturday night at the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.
“Kung sa condition, condition naman ako dahil may laban naman talaga ako dapat this weekend,” Vallespin said. “But I will try my best against (Raka). Kailangan ibigay talaga lahat dahil nasa court tayo ng kalaban.”
The 25-year-old Vallespin will be entering the match with 12-4-0 win-loss-draw ring record, including nine stoppage victories./PN
