ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) is running after 374 drug personalities.
The targets are mostly in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, according to Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, regional police director.
They are drug pushers and high-value targets, he revealed.
That most of them are from Bacolod City and Negros Occidental is not surprising, said Pamuspusan, as these two areas are main sources of illegal drugs in the region.
“Ang ibang pangalan sa ating listahan patuloy pa ang ating validation. We need to continuously validate para malaman natin kung patuloy pa sila. Hindi tayo basta-basta nag–o-operate without a series of validation,” he stressed.
Last month, the PRO-6 recorded 225 drug arrests mostly in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.
Also from June 27 to July 27 this year, P23,180,153 worth of shabu was seized across Western Visayas, data from the PRO-6 showed. The bulk of shabu was from Negros Occidental (P13.8 million) and Bacolod City (P9.2 million).
Only P162,653 worth of shabu were confiscated from the provinces of Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Antique, and Guimaras.
“Expect more confiscations. Bacolod City and Negros Occidental are the focus of our operation,” said Police Lieutenant Joem Malong, spokesperson of the PRO-6.
Shabu in those areas were from Cebu City and Negros Oriental, she added./PN
