MANILA – Mendiola FC 1991 bucked the decimation of its roster to pull off a 4-0 victory over Global-Makati FC in the 2019 Philippines Football League at Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa, Batangas.
Hamed Hajimehdi fired two goals while Alem Angeles and Ricki Sendra converted one each.
Mendiola registered its second victory in last
three matches.
Hajimehdi opened the scoring for Mendiola. He eluded his defenders at the 23rd
minute.
It was followed by a conversion from Sendra a minute into the break for a 2-0 edge.
Mendiola, however, was dealt with a huge blow early in the second half with Soul Ndepe being slapped with a straight red card, diminishing the squad to 10 men the rest of the way.
Global-Makati could not take advantage of the situation as Mendiola widened the lead to 3-0 with 74th minute goal of Angeles before Hajimehdi completed his brace in the 76th minute.
With the victory, Mendiola now has 10 points across its name. Global Makati remained at last place with only three points to show./PN
