MUNTINLUPA City – Petron Blaze Spikers made a quick work of the Marinerang Pilipina Lady Skippers, 25-12, 25-17, 25-9, in the 2019 Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at the Muntinlupa Sports Center.
Cherry Rondina tallied 13 points, including seven attacks, on Tuesday night while Negrense Bernadeth Pons had double-double 11 points and 14 excellent digs.
The Blaze Spikers chalked its 11th win in 12 outings.
Rhea Dimaculangan dished out 21 excellent sets while Frances Molina and Ilongga Aiza Maizo-Pontillas had seven and six points, respectively.
With the lopsided outcome, Blaze Spikers head coach Ceseal delos Santos was able to field all of his 14 players while also giving his stars some rest ahead of their clash with the unbeaten F2 Logistics Cargo Movers (11-0) on Thursday.
“I’m happy that all my players delivered,” said Delos Santos. “Fielding all of them was part of the game plan and as I told them to get ready, they played well-prepared.”
Meanwhile, Cignal HD Spikers held off PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters in five sets, 25-23, 20-25, 16-25, 25-23, 15-9, to get back on the winning track.
For the HD Spikers (7-6), Janine Navarro tallied 23 points built on 18 attacks and five kill blocks while Rachel Anne Daquis and Guimarasnon Jovelyn Gonzaga contributed 21 and 19 markers, respectively./PN
